Into The White Sky

This piece is about the grief I felt when my beloved father died a few years ago. I experienced grief as waves of deep water, with oars that are ineffectual for me to navigate. The hands are clutched at the chest and the arms are covered in flowers and angels, as flowers are thrown at a gravesite. The cloud was originally made to be connected to the shoulders, but as grief began to subside a bit, the cloud was lifting so I devised a way to have the cloud float above the figure.”
