This series, based on the milagro form, explores life from the present and the past and offers ways in which we make transitions between. The top torso is made of branches and speak about growth and the future. The bottom torso is a reflection of the top one and is made of bones, which refers to ancestry and the past. Each of the torsos are carved with imagery referring to ways of passage from one realm to the other; doors, windows, stairs, compasses, etc. The space between the top and bottom torsos is where we reside now.
