QWORKS! It usually starts with a question than needs answering-How can I make a one-of-a-kind object from mass produces objects?. I have collected porcelain chachkies for years, not really knowing why or what I would do with them. One day I began cutting them apart and reassembling the parts to give them a new narrative and a new life. I cut them into parts and put them together until I have a satisfying narrative or form. The stories vary from visual puns and sexual innuendo to random thoughts and forms that are just pleasing to look at. They are whimsical, fun and thought provoking. I love how they became elevated a bit from their previous “low art” life, but are still related to memory, ceramic history and mementos. I LOVE how you THINK you are looking at some cheap mass-produced trinket, but upon closer examination, you find something quite different. They are inexpensive and range in price from $100-$300
